Z is for... Zoo and Farm Trips

Every since R was little we have taken her to every zoo and farm both local to us and in the places that we have visited for holidays. From the first one we visited when she was three months to the times we make trips now, she has always loved them.

We are a family of animal lovers, and whether it be visiting the local park to feed the ducks, or standing on the other side of a pane of glass to a tiger - R has enjoyed every second.

We have been lucky enough to visit a fair few different zoos and farms, including the following:

South Lakes Safari Zoo

We have had the privilege of visiting the South Lakes Safari Zoo a couple of times. The first time we took R, she slept almost the entire way around, and woke up towards the end when we were walking past the pond with the ducks - she was so excited to see them, and to this day it is a fond memory that John and I often have a giggle about.

The second time R was at an age where she was walking and she enjoyed every second of getting up close and personal with the animals. It was here that she also had the amazing opportunity to feed a giraffe!

Sacrewell Farm

Sacrewell Farm is a beautiful local farm that is one of R's favourites. She most enjoys visiting the shire horses and the pigs. They have an indoor soft play too, which is always fun to go and spend some time in.

Pigeons Farm

Pigeons Farm was a family run local farm where they had a small selection of animals - including ones that could be held and fed - and also a beautiful play area complete with jumping pillow and adventure playground. I am so sad that this farm is now closed. We have made some lovely memories here, as a little family unit, with friends and with extended family.

We have also made multiple visits to Hamerton Zoo Park, an awesome local zoo that includes a number of rare animals, have an awesome breeding programme and also have some animals that are not kept anywhere else in the U.K.

Other places we have visited include Odds Farm Park; Longleat Safari Park; Farmer Palmer's; Greenlands Farm Village; Eshottheugh Animal Park; and Cotswold Animal Park.

I'm pretty sure that now I am blogging, I will be writing plenty of posts about the trips we make to these farms and zoos!

Do you have a favourite zoo or farm that you like to visit?
