#Project365 Week 37 | Me Becoming Mum

"It's all the little moments that make life a very big adventure!"

This week has been a long week, and Squidgy’s first full week in Reception.

September 9th 2018: Sunday I shared a post of me working, with an important caption I feel sums up my thoughts on people trolling bloggers for doing their job.

"Welcome to blogging life it's not all "free" stuff and fancy days out and getting to spend every day with my family having a wonderful time.

Sometimes it's using your partner's day off to edit photos write and proof read posts, answer emails and try to catch up on posts that need publishing, when your children really want you to go to the park with them.

Sometimes it is working until the wee hours of the morning when everyone else is sleeping just to make sure things go live on time, and still having to get up early to make sure the school run is done and your children are fed and cared for.

Sometimes it's having to fight tantrums to get the photos needed to complete a post you've agreed to publish, or spend time crying because you get writer's block at the worst moment.

Sometimes it's being accused you're on your phone too much because you're chasing payments or trying to find out where parcels are or updating social media because it's the lifeline of your business, and without everything falling into place you don't get paid unlike many who have a guaranteed paycheck every month.

I love being able to work from home and be around for my daughters and enjoy what I do, but can we please stop blogger shaming or making out like this isn't just as valid a job as a position in an office or in retail.

I work more than full time hours most weeks, on top of the usual household chores such as changing beds washing clothes and of course raising my girls.

Loving what I do means I don't mind the lack of sleep and lack of ever really stopping, because ultimately it's fantastic to do something I enjoy and be able to dictate my schedule and be there for my girls.

That isn't an excuse for people to make out like I'm a "lady of leisure" or that I'm just in it for the "free" stuff.

Be kind.

Always."

September 15th 2018: I love this little happy face but I do wish that she would go to sleep considering she was still up at 1am last night up at 9am this morning and hasn't had a nap today!
