2016 Elf on the Shelf Round Up

For those of you who missed it, we had a little visitor during the days of advent - our Elf on the Shelf came to visit from Santa! Here is a round up of all the antics that our elf, Belle, got up to this year.

December 1st: ADVENT CALENDARS

What better way to start the Christmas countdown than by bringing Squidgy’s Advent calendar?

December 2nd: STEALING CHRISTMAS CHOCOLATES

While we were busy it would seem Belle found my box of Quality Street and decided to help herself! Cheeky elf!

December 3rd: FRIDGE RAIDER

Oops, it looks like Belle found the sponge cake I had put into the fridge to stale slightly over night ready to make cake pops! Look at the mess she's made with those crumbs!

December 4th: FUNNY FACES

It would appear that Belle found my Christmas selfie kit and decided to take some funny selfies with some of the props!

December 5th: HANGING AROUND

I'm not even sure how this cheeky elf managed to get all the way up to this snowflake hanging from the ceiling above our advent calendars; much to Squidgy's amusement I had to rescue her!

December 6th: DECORATING THE TREE

I think Belle felt a little left out that me and Squidgy decorated the tree, today we found her hanging a couple of extra red baubles up!

December 7th: DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN?

I found our cheeky elf just in time I think... she was about to start adding eyes and buttons with my eye liner! Squidgy thought the toilet paper Snowman was pretty awesome.

December 8th: A LETTER FROM SANTA

Today we found Belle patiently waiting by her door with a little magical golden envelope, which opened into full size letter from Santa!

December 9th: SNOWBALL FIGHT

In lieu of real snow, our elf on a shelf has made snowballs from our toilet paper and is having a snowball fight with Squidgy's favourite toy - Skye from Paw Patrol! The cheeky pair have used Pickle's Christmas gifts as barriers to hide behind too! Whatever next.

December 10th: FROZEN SOUNDTRACK

Turns out that Squidgy and Belle have something in common... a love for Frozen! I think Belle must have gotten bored of me constantly playing Christmas music; so she’s taken matters into her own hands!

December 11th: HIDE AND SEEK

Belle didn't have to go far to find this hiding place! Jumping off the mantel where her door is, she's squeezed herself in the gap behind the fire. Good job it's not on or she might get a little hot!

December 12th: CHRISTMAS TREE CHOCOLATE

Mummy forgot to put the Christmas tree chocolates up. So, Belle very kindly brought them over for us to do!

December 13th: TEA PARTY FUN

Belle was having a lovely tea party with Squidgy's two rag dolls and Squidgy decided she wanted to join in too! The four of them are sat on my bed enjoying cups of tea, complete with sugar and milk!

December 14th: ELF LOVES PANTS

Squidgy thought today’s elfy antics was most amusing... and kept saying, “But Mummy, they’re too big for Belle!” (Whilst laughing hysterically, obviously!) Belle doesn’t seem to mind though, and especially loves Squidgy’s Frozen themed knickers as they’re winter-y!

December 15th: HOLDING OLAF HOSTAGE

Sitting on top of Squidgy’s role play kitchen, we found Belle holding Olaf hostage for a giant, tight hug! All while Sven attempts to get him back... It’s a good job Olaf likes warm hugs!

December 16th: SUMMER TIME

Today’s post is a little bit of a lazy one for me... I had no idea what to do! Squidgy was less than impressed by the fact that Belle had stolen her favourite Frozen sunglasses though!

December 17th: MOVIE NIGHT

I think Belle’s choice of movie for today is definitely a good one! She’s a bit keen though, as it’s morning and she has already set up the PS4! Would you believe that we haven’t watched any Christmas movies yet?! About time we get that rectified!

December 18th: PARTY TIME!

In honour of the fact that today is Pickle's official due date, Belle is having a little party with my Bailey's and some balloons! I'm not sure Squidgy really understood what the Bailey's was but she loved the balloons!

DECEMBER 19TH: SNOWMAN PIGGY-BACK RIDE

Today Belle discovered our Snowman doorstop, and decided to get a piggy-back ride! I don't know who was more fascinated, Squidgy or our cats!

December 20th: GONE FISHING

I kind of ran out of time (thanks to having a baby) to get some accessories for today's theme... so I cheated and did it on my phone. Don't think Squidgy was as impressed as all the other days 😂

December 21st: ARTS AND CRAFTS

Our daughter absolutely loves drawing and today’s activity that Belle has brought for her is a colouring book and crayons! One happy toddler, that’s for sure.

December 22nd: SNOW ANGEL

This cheeky elf got into my baking cupboard and got out some flour to make snow angels in the kitchen... Such a massive mess for me to clean up!

December 23rd: LOVE OF READING

Squidgy and I love to read books together. In fact, Squidgy is quite happy to have anyone read her books! She, of course, will read books too (her memory is amazing and often she will repeat the stories while turning the pages even though she can't properly read yet!) So you can imagine the joy on her face when she saw Belle sitting reading the story of Christmas in the morning light! One of the best reactions yet!

December 24th: CHRISTMAS EVE BOX

After all the mischief and fun that Belle has had in the last 23 days, it's nice to see that she's being helpful today. She's going through and checking I haven't forgotten anything in our family Christmas Eve box!

Thank you for reading; and from my family, our friendly family elf and me:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
