Sunny Days at Burnham Beeches | UK Family Days Out

With everything that has been going on recently, whilst I have been battling anxiety, we have spent a lot of time with family so that I have a chance to get some help and support with the girls. When the weather is nice it makes for a lovely time as we are able to get outside.

One of the weekends that we spent down with family we made a visit to Burnham Beeches with my brother, somewhere that my parents took us as a child and I was so happy to be able to share with my girls too. I have such fond memories of time spent there exploring and having ice creams from the ice cream van, and that made it so much more special to visit.

My brother brought a Frisbee so once we had parked up and made our way to the large clearing area amongst the woodland, we set about enjoying time together and attempting to teach Squidgy how to throw a Frisbee (which was one of the funniest things, especially when she actually threw it really well and it hit me unexpectedly!)

We also found some trees with thick lower branches so the girls and my brother had a chance to climb some trees and have some fun times together. i am pretty sure that my brother enjoyed the climbing more than the girls, and being a big kid himself.

I am so glad that we were able to spend the day together and have some time out in the fresh air, enjoying the sun and each others company. I am sure that there will be many more trips out this summer and I can't wait to see the girls growing and spending time outside. Fingers crossed that we get plenty of good weather in the coming months so that we can... because I know that it does as much good for me as it does for them.

If you want to visit Burnham Beeches and enjoy the great outdoors in a beautiful, place (that is also famous for having the forest scenes in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves filmed there!) I would highly recommend it, and you can find it in Buckinghamshire just to the west of London. Check out the City of London website for all the details on car parking and things to do there.
