Phone Accessories for Travel | Mobile Fun Review

Travelling is something John and I've always enjoyed, and since having our girls we have had to be a little more creative with where we go on holiday and do quite a lot of super cheap (like £99 for all of us for five days cheap) staycations around the UK. Obviously what we take with us is very important and this includes the accessories that keep our tech going... especially mine, as I need my phone for my job as a blogger.

You may remember that not too long ago I worked with a company called Mobile Fun to review some of their accessories for my Samsung Galaxy S8 (you can read it here) so when they asked if I would like to review some that are great for travelling, I couldn't say no! Here are a few of my top accessories for taking with you when you are out and about.

Car accessories

Wireless charging phone holder

As I have been using the Samsung wireless charger at home, it was only natural that I would want to have a similarly easy to use accessory for when I was travelling in the car. I have been so pleased with the Universal Qi wireless charger from Mobile Fun and the freedom that it allows me when I am heading out and about, whether it is for a short trip or a journey for a holiday.

There are a number of reasons why I have enjoyed having this accessory in my collection and these include:

  • I am able to pop my phone in quickly and easily, and take it out just as simply whilst knowing it will charge on the journey and not have any wires to sort out at the start or end of my trip.

  • The adjustable holder allows for my phone to fit with or without a case whilst still being fully secure; in fact it adjusts to 110mm meaning it will also fit an iPhone 8 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with ease.

  • The holder clamps on to the air vents which makes it super easy to fit without leaving any marks or damage to my car.

  • The clamps are also adjustable and can be used vertically or horizontally without issue meaning that it can fit to any car, from my Vauxhall Zafira to the Mitsubishi Mirage hire car I had recently.

FM transmitter

I am not going to lie, I am not a massive fan of the radio. Not only does it mean that I can't choose what I am listening to, but the adverts in between and the host chatting grind on my nerves. Let's be honest, carrying hundreds of CDs around in the car is not only impractical but also kind of silly. As my car is not fitted with a Bluetooth option, I need an alternative to be able to listen to the music that I have on my phone, and the Promate wireless transmitter gives me that.

The Promate wireless transmitter not only allows me to listen to whatever I have uploaded on my phone but also has an option of using a USB with data loaded on it. The fact that it is wireless means that I can use it without worrying about tonnes of wires getting in my way, and it also has a separate USB port to allow for charging my phone too. The other great feature is that the transmitter also allows for me to use my Bluetooth so if I need to I can safely answer my phone.

Accessories for out and about

Charging power bank

When you are travelling, whether you are on a day out or on holiday, one of the most annoying things that can happen is your phone running out of battery. Although I have a wireless charger in my car, I can't always have my engine running to charge my phone, so having a power bank such as my new Olixar premium portable charger allows for me to charge on the go. It is easy to recharge with the micro USB included, has LED lights to indicate how much power it has and the best part is that it is slim and portable (obviously) making it the perfect item to pop into a handbag (or changing bag in my case!)

Keeping the children entertained

Phone case and stand

When it comes to travelling one thing that John and I always need is a five (or more) minute break, whether it is simply because of the journey or because we are on holiday and I need time to unpack. As much as being outside or other activities are good for children, sometimes technology is the best babysitter and having the violet official Samsung clear view case makes my life so much easier. I am able to use it as a stand and pop some cartoons on for the girls and know they'll be occupied for atleast a short time.
There are a number of fabulous Samsung Galaxy S8 cases available over at Mobile Fun, some of which you can check out in my previous review here.

There are so many wonderful accessories available at Mobile Fun, whether you are looking for an older model or a brand new one.
