I'm a little bit late to the party this year, and if you've seen my recent renovations content you'll know why! However it is finally beginning to look a lot like Christmas - and I've put together some gift guides just for you!

The rule of 7

With a house full of “stuff”, (and of course the fact that we are renovating our new house), we are limited in what we have to spend this year. The rule of 7 is the best way to work to a tight budget, as well as limit and prioritise gifts within the following gift groups:

A plain background with a red border and some mistletoe and berries, with the text explaining the rule of 7 - something they want, something they need, something to wear, something to read, something to do, something to eat, something to share

Something they want

Eau de toilette

John loves BOSS Bottled† (and so do I - everyone has ‘their’ scent, am I right?) so picking it up on sale for Christmas is always going to be a winner. With Black Friday price drops around at the moment it's a great time to pick up items like thus. In fact, I may just pick up the BOSS Bottled Night† for his birthday too while it's on sale!

LEGO for the win

You seriously can't do better than LEGO for anyone - young or old, male or female. That being said, one thing sitting near the top of my Christmas list this year was the LEGO Hedwig† which I absolutely adore. There are so many LEGO sets to choose from these days, you are bound to find something you and those you are buying gifts for will love.

Something they need

Monogrammed card holder

For the times John doesn’t want to carry his entire wallet around with him, he has been using an old, plastic oyster card holder - which to be honest has seen better days! With the Ornate Initial Oyster Card Holder from Boutiquegifts.co.uk* he can finally get rid of the worse for wear holder and use this lovely new one with pride. Boutiquegifts.co.uk offer a wide range of products which can be personalised with names, initials and even messages to your nearest and dearest; so if an Oyster Card holder isn't on your shopping list, perhaps you will find something else more suited to your giftee.

The perfect (eco-friendly!) shaving products

John is a big fan of being clean shaven - I don’t mind either way but the girls don't like daddy being ‘spikey’ haha! Getting a smooth result is all about the tools you have at your disposal and the Clear Confidence Vegan Shaving Brush* is a great addition to any man's shaving kit. These brushes are designed to help provide a more comfortable, closer shave - plus with the entire shaving brush made of plant based components, it's 100% vegan-friendly too. The bristles are firm enough to do their job, but soft enough to feel wonderful to use.

Something to wear

Matching PJs

I love a bit of twinning (if you’ve been around a while you’ve probably seen us in matching Christmas pyjamas, jumpers and more!) This will be the first time John is able to twin with our son as I found them matching Everton pyjamas in the clearance sale. It was obviously meant to be as most sizes were sold out but both of theirs were still available! These days you can get mini me versions of items from pyjamas to tops to full outfits from supermarkets and clothing stores alike, so you're bound to find something the men in your life will love, just like I have.

The perfect make-up compaCt

Spice up your loved ones make-up collection with Colour Me Beautiful's refillable compacts. Each collection has product for eyes, lips and cheeks, alongside a lovely lipstick (the Christmas Red I have is absolutely lush!) The two collections include the beautiful Cool Collection* I have alongside the Warm Collection*. They also come packaged beautifully, ready to simply gift to the recipient… saving you the time in wrapping too.

Something to do

Mouldable glue for DIY at home

Whether you have a load of DIY fixes to sort, or simply want to update or personalise things around your home, a Home Hacks Kit from Sugru by tesa* is bound to be the perfect gift for you. This multi-purpose mouldable glue is bound to be a winner when it comes to all the small home improvements you need to make. It even comes with 14 unique, yet practical ideas for repairs and crafts you can use your kit for; complete with how-to guides.

Cleaning at home

Something to eat (or drink!)

A warming comfort drink

The best part of this time of year is snuggling up on a cool winter's eve, complete with a lovely hot chocolate. It's no secret I love a hot chocolate - even better if it's covered in marshmallows. As far as festive gift sets go, this one is right up my street. The Our Remedy's Vegan Hot Chocolate* not only tastes great but it's vegan and eco-friendly! With compostable and recyclable packaging, this product is also made in the UK, so you'll be supporting a home business too.

A Christmas tipple

Those that drink are sure to enjoy a Christmas tipple from ilGusto*. They are one of my favourite brands for picking our a fancy drink. From their fun, shaped decanters in Christmas shapes to the amazing variety of flavour choices available you'll find something for every recipient on the ilGusto site. For example, I’m a huge fan of their flavoured gins, whilst John prefers the Irish cream liqueurs… especially the white chocolate one. The best part for me, however, is the fact they come in different sizes meaning you can pick up a gift or stocking filler - whatever you’re after!

Something to share

A family day out

Family days out are always a winner for us, let's be honest with four children, being stuck cooped up inside the house is a no go if you don't want everyone to be crawling the walls. If you’re looking for a great gift to share, why not pick up a Buyagift Happy Christmas Experience Box*. You can have these as physical boxes or e-gifts, and they are perfect for everyone and anyone with over 2,500 experiences available to choose from.

Bonus gift ideas

Stocking fillers for him and her

Lip Balm for soothing winter chap

I absolutely adore Lansinoh products and have happily used them for years… especially while breastfeeding. Knowing how good their other products are, the Lansinoh Lanolin Lip Balm* is a no brainer for me. Particularly at this time of year, when the weather takes a turn, the cold weather sets in and inevitably my skin begins to dry out and break. This lip Balm not only helps to moisturise and protect your lips, but it soothes sore, chapped lips too. A winner on both fronts.

Soap to come up smelling like roses

I'm sorry, I couldn’t help but come up with a flower based pun for this product. First things first, it sucks I can't share the scent of this product with you, because to be quite Frank it would sell it better than any words I can spin in a blog post. The Geranium Rose Soap from Lily & Rabbit* is officially my new favourite soap. It's all natural - which is fantastic - is soft and moisturising by nature and to top it all off it leaves you smelling like the most beautiful flower garden. From the moment I opened the package I fell in love… and I'm pretty sure you and your loved ones will too.

Award winner face products

I'm sure I'm not the only one who loves a good sking care product. What could be better than a product with sustainably sourced ingredients, that has won awards? Forever Living’s Smoothing Exfoliator* is amazing and it leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft - and it doesn’t smell too shabby either. It is full of vitamins to support healthy skin, and is so easy to use. Plus you only have to use it 2-3 times a week, which is ideal for people like me who have literally got no free time at all.

Moisturising skin treatment

If you're looking for the perfect secret Santa or an ideal stocking stuffer, the Organic Rosehip Seed Oil from Alteya* fits the bill. A small amount can be massaged into your skin to help rough, dry or flaky patches, your hair tonadd nourishment and even after sun exposure to lessen the damage it can cause. It's not just for your face, it can be used on elbows, knees, scar tissue and more. It's such a versatile product and I highly recommend it.

So, there you go. My first gift guide live and ready for you to go do your shopping. If you have something in mind, be quick. A lot of places have some fabulous deals on this week thanks to Black Friday.

Wishing you a very Happy Christmas from my family and me this year!
