This year, things are a little different. With lockdown 3.0 in full force, and many of our favourite shops - and date night spots - shut; it is harder than usual to plan for Valentine's Day. Shopping online is still available however, and you'd be surprised at the range of gifts available to suit every couple and their budgets. Here are a few top gift ideas for the love of your life this Valentine's Day.

Gifts for lockdown

… afternoon tea delivered to your door

It's no secret that I love afternoon tea… and I'm not alone. Lockdown shut all our favourite spots, so going out for one right now isn't an option but that doesn’t mean we miss out! It includes everything you need to have an afternoon tea date night at home in lockdown including:

If you're looking for your escape room fix during lockdown, then you need look no further than this 3in1 box. Follow the storyline, complete the puzzles and games and do it all within an hour to “escape” the room. A great way to break the monotone nature of lockdown, and have fun with your partner this Valentine's Day.

… and keep busy

Lockdown is the perfect opportunity to get all those niggling DIY and organising jobs finished. Encourage your partner to get the garage or shed organised a gift to help. The BiGDUG Valentine's Mega Deal* is the ultimate bundle for all your organising needs. Time for a pamper…

… face masks

These luxurious pink, green and yellow clay masks are a perfect gift. Plus, clay is great for reducing oil, removing impurities and detoxifying the skin… making them perfect for every skin type.

Sweet tooth gifts

Fudge…

… in funky flavours

If chocolate isn't there thing, then why not grab a box of fudge? I cannot recommend Fudge Kitchen* enough. The amazing variety of flavours the texture and of course the taste make them some if the best squares of fudge I have ever eaten. When gorgeous packaging and boxes to suit different budgets you’re bound to find fudge for your other half on their website.

Chocolates…

… bonus points for love shapes

There are very few people who don't love to satisfy their sweet tooth with a bar of chocolate or other treats. This Valentine's Day why not go a little extra and check out heart shaped chocolate from ChocOnChoc? If all else fails just grab a nice Lindt selection box on your next food shop, that will always be a winner.

Drinking gifts

Eco-friendly gifts…

… for their coffee machine

Everyone knows I don't drink coffee… but John does! As you know, I am a massive fan of eco-friendly swaps that we can make to do our part for the planet. With a gift set of Sealpod Nespresso® Classic Edition reusable coffee capsules* from Maverick Coffee, your favourite Nespresso® machine can make your favourite cuppa with an eco-friendly twist. Using these reusable capsules is quick and easy too, making them a great gift for every coffee lover this Valentine's Day.

A mug…

… for their favourite hot drink

Mugs may be one of the more cliché gifts (up there with socks!) but it doesn’t have to be that way. With a little help from Amazon Handmade you can pick up gorgeous, unique, handmade gifts suitable for every couple… just like this gorgeous Personalised Couple Penguins Mug*. If you’re sure mugs are not for you, why not check out some of the other (equally awesome!) gifts available from Amazon Handmade such as:

Everyone knows I'm a big fan of gin so if I get some Mermaid Gin from Isle of Wight Distillery* for Valentine's Day I know I'll be happy. If you or your other half are a gin fan, you can't go wrong here either. A gift set containing all three of their flavours from the pink gin to the salt vodka has to be mt new favourite gift idea. If all else fails, however, a bottle of Mermaid Pink Gin is the perfect colour and taste to suit Valentine's Day.

    Vodka…

… in mini love shaped decanters

I am a massive fan of il Gusto alcoholic drinks* and the amazing variety of glass shaped decanters they offer. No matter the season you will find a gift suitable for your partner from gingerbread men at Christmas to hearts and diamonds at Valentine's Day. They have a wide variety of flavoured spirits to suit different recipients, and even offer vinegars and oils if that is better suited to your lover this Valentine's Day.

    Whisky…

… for their Friday night warming tipple

If gin is not really your partner's "thing", then maybe you should try a bottle of Four Roses small bath bourbon whiskey* instead. The perfect blend of winter spice, toast and honey scents alongside a rich, well balanced taste this whiskey is the ideal addition to anyone's liquor cupboard. Whether you’re after a Friday night tipple to bring in the weekend or love a Whiskey Sour or Whiskey Smash, this product is the perfect choice as a gift this Valentine's Day.

    Gifts for health

    A break…

    …and fresh air

I really don't think there is anything better for physical and mental health than getting out for a walk in the fresh air. During lockdown all of us can end up feeling a little penned in; stuck in the same 4 walls, with the same people, all day, every day! The perfect gift this Valentine's Day is the chance to escape the monotony and enjoy time outside. Plan a date together if you can, or take the children if you want. Alternatively, offer your partner the chance to get out on their own or with a friend while you stay home with the children… giving them a break too!

    Snacks…

    …but healthy ones

Whilst chocolates are a bit of a cliché option (up there with flowers!) for Valentine's Day, not all options are the same. If you want healthy, sweet-tooth-fulfilling snacks as gifts for Valentine's Day then you need look no further than proYOUth natural protein energy bars*. Get a mixed gift set with all three flavours, or pick your partner’s favourite and order them a box full to enjoy. Whatever you choose, they won't be disappointed with these flavour packed snacks!

    Gifts for the home

    A photo frame…

    … with a difference

This was one of the hardest products I have ever photographed by one of the best ideas for gifts I've had the privilege of working with! If you want a totally unique - and totally awesome - gift this Valentine’s Day, then a Nixplay smart photo frame is the gift for you. From the smart, simple packaging to the sleek, black style of the frame, every part has been well thought through. Working quickly and easily with an app on your phone, you can choose everything from which photos to play, how to transition between images and more. Prints…

… to decorate and show love

For a unique touch to your home - and a permanent reminder that you love them - why not give your lover a gorgeous print from Hannah Turlington Designs? With limited edition prints, design collections and more, I'm sure there is something for everyone amongst the product choices in this independent online store. I always think there is something extra special about buying from a small business too, don't you agree?

    Handmade glass…

    … from magnets to ornaments

If you love to support small businesses, and are looking for a unique gift for your love this Valentine's Day, I cannot recommend beautifully handcrafted glass gifts from Candice Wu Glass* enough! For Valentine's Day you can pick up the beautiful glass heart magnet blown with clear and scarlet glass alongside flecks of gold leaf. It's stunning and the perfect, unique gift this year. She also makes candle holders, mini birds and more so be sure to check out her Instagram for more stunning glass designs.
